the bad beginning

didn't intend to make this initial entry sounding so negative. it’s just a coincidence that somehow i have some time to write today and i can't think of anything to write except about the books i’ve read recently. it’s called series of unfortunate events by lemony snicket and its first book is called the bad beginning.

the series narrates the misfortune of three orphans (violet, klaus and sunny). how they move from one guardian to another and the evil plot of count olaf to get hold of their fortune.

i enjoyed reading these books but would never recommend this series to children. these books can rob children their peace of mind. imagine kids dreading each day of losing their parents and moving from one guardian to another.

i’ve finished reading six books of this series. the books were given to me by joel at a time when we’re actually in an unfortunate situation... i want to finish the whole series but would need some time before i can buy the next set of books.

with this series i’ll start my children’s book collection which reminded me of my harry potter books which i lent it to someone. i tried to contact that person today. sadly the mobile phone is either switched off or outside the coverage area :( i hope i can still manage to get my books back.

this seems like a bad beginning after all. hopefully it’ll get better.
